About Me: I am based in the West End of Glasgow, and I have been working as a freelance proofreader and editor since 2015.

I love working on medical texts, but I have experience working on a diverse range of projects – this variety is what I like most about my work.

I pride myself on providing an expert service with the personal touch. I strive to establish strong, personable relationships with all of my clients – each one as individual as their respective project. Making a client happy makes me happy!

Memberships: I am a Professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading – formerly the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP).

Services: I offer proofreading, copy-editing, copywriting and localisation services. I am experienced in proofreading blind, against copy, and on screen using Adobe Reader’s mark-up tools or Microsoft Word’s Track Changes.

Medical Project Experience: Proofreading and copy-editing translated scientific articles relating to orthopaedic surgery.

Non-Medical Project Experience: Copy-editing and copywriting property brochure information; proofreading and proof-editing documents for the financial services industry.

I am also Deputy Editor of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting Scottish Network newsletter.

Internships & Mentorships: I completed an internship with HarperCollins Publishers in 2014, where I worked on the preparation of bilingual dictionary content. I completed a SfEP Proofreading Mentorship in 2016.

Education: I have an MSc in Translation Studies: Translation and Professional Practice from the University of Glasgow and a BA (Hons) in Spanish and French from the University of Strathclyde.

My MSc dissertation project, which achieved a distinction, focused on the partial translation of a French medical textbook. Selected chapters were translated for a medical professional audience and were in textbook form. These chapters were then retranslated for an audience with no medical knowledge and were in the form of a magazine article.

Testimonials: You can find a selection of testimonials on my website.

Areas of Interest: All fields of medicine, medical and animal charity work.

Contact Me: If you think I would be ideal for your project, please get in touch and I will reply as soon as possible. I look forward to hearing from you!
