I am interested in proofreading work in the following areas:
- Training materials
- Academic material, including theses and articles (especially in business, finance, accounting and taxation related subjects)
- Business reports
- Financial reports
- General non-fiction (especially biography, history, travel, but anything considered)
- Christian books/articles
- Bible study materials
I have been working as a freelance proofreader since early in 2016. Since then I have had experience in proofreading books on Christian education, Bible background, various aspects of prayer, marriage and church history. When working for publishers I use BSI symbols for both Adobe PDF mark up and on hard copy
Previously, I worked as an accountant for almost 40 years. The skills that I developed in writing clear reports as an accountant and tax specialist and in providing accurate accounts and financial information for clients are transferable to my work as a proofreader. In my roles as a Tax Partner and a Manager I reviewed the work of colleagues to ensure that the information provided was accurate and clearly understood by clients. I am also used to meeting client deadlines.
