I am a medieval archaeologist and historian with a MA (First Class Honours in Mediaeval History from St Andrews), a MPhil in Nordic Viking and Medieval Culture (University of Oslo) and a PhD in Archaeology and History (University of Glasgow). Having worked at the universities of Aberdeen and Hull as a researcher and lecturer in medieval history for seven years, I decided that what I really enjoyed doing was editing and proofreading, since I had been the general editor of an academic journal, Northern Studies, from 2012. I have been working as a freelance editor since the spring of 2019.

I specialise in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences: I have edited texts on subjects ranging from archaeology, medieval and modern history, education, literature, modern politics, and place-names.
